Mr Akbar received his BDS degree in 2004 (PAK). Since then he has gained valuable experience in private dentistry, focusing mainly on smile makeovers, oral rehabilitations, and orthodontics.

His special interest lies in cosmetic and advanced restorative dentistry, including management of tooth wear.

He is toward the end MclinDent (Masters in clinical dentistry) in prosthodontics from the prestigious “Kings College London”.

He completed his 1-year certificate course in implantology, mainly concentrating on the Nobel Bio care system, and is now towards the end of his advanced training in implantology. He is treating his patients with minimally invasive surgery with the help of 3D guided technology, which means that, in selected cases, the patients have their teeth extracted, implant placed, and a tooth on the same day.

He believes in “minimally invasive dentistry” and has a keen interest in cosmetic restorations with composites (white fillings), and has been trained in the complex composite layering techniques of world famous composite specialists like Didier Dietschi.

Mr Akbar holds the Associate Fellowship with WCLI (World Clinical Laser and Imaging Institute). In addition to the provision of ultimate aesthetics, lasers have a role in periodontal treatment (gum disease) and the management of TMDs (Temporomandibular Joint Disorders). Mr Akbar currently helps his patients in the management of pain in TMJ Disorders and non-surgical laser assisted periodontal treatment.

His artistic flair enables him to construct cosmetic dentures that are life-like and functionally satisfying, for patients with complex oral anatomy, that are beyond the skills of the general dentist.
